News and Information
Leonard Cohen is traveling to theatres across the country this spring for just his second tour after 15 years, coming across critical acclaim and hoards of fans at every stop.

Cohen, a Canadian singer/songwriter and novelist, has been publishing poetry, novels and recording music since his career began in the 1950's. He often explores religion, sexuality, isolation and interpersonal relationship, normally draped across a folk music setting.

The artist, born in 1934, was raised in Montreal, Quebec, and became interested in music at an early age, learning to play the guitar. While in college, he honed his poetry skills and by the 1960's he was in the U.S. pursuing a career as a folk singer-songwriter. He wrote "Suzanne," a hit for Judy Collins, which is his most-covered song to date.

Over Cohen's career, he released a number of acclaimed books and albums, and he has held a steady base of supporters while becoming hero within the folk tock genre of music. Over the years, he released classics such as "Hallelujah," "Suzanne," "Everybody Knows," "A Thousand Kisses Deep," and 'First We Take Manhattan"

In recent years, Cohen has become somewhat of a recluse - he spend the latter half of the 1990's at the Mount Baldy Zen Center near Los Angeles in seclusion, where he was ordained as a Buddhist monk. The singer released "Ten New Songs" in 2001, and "Dear Heather" in 2004.

Most recently, Cohen released "Book of Longing," a collection of poetry and drawings, in 2006.
