Larry the Cable Guy News and Information
Posted 6/18/2009
Larry the Cable Guy is out on the road the second half of his 2009 tour, in anticipation of his September 22nd comedy album. "Tailgate Party," which was recorded in front of 53,000 fans at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, will be followed by a live DVD out in January.

The funnyman will spend the month of October traveling down the East Coast and through the South, traveling back up into the Northeast in November and finishing things up with two stops in Uncasville, Conn, on the 13th and 14th .

Larry, officially known as Daniel Lawrence Whitney, grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri, where he got his start as a radio personality. He spent his time on the radio developing the Larry character, a stereotypical redneck, telling off-color tales about his family, friends, and lifestyle.

Larry found world-wide fame as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, along with comedians Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy and Ron White. He starred in the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour, The Movie," which premiered on Comedy Central in 2003 as the highest-rated movie in the history of the channel. As a DVD release, it sold more than 4 million units.

He has released five comedy albums throughout his career, three of which were certified Gold by the RIAA. "Lord, I Apologize" was put out in 2001, and was followed by "The Right to Bare Arms" in 2005. "Morning Constitutions" was released in 2007, along with an accompanying DVD.

In addition to his recording success, Larry has a blossoming film career to boot - he released three Blue Collar Comedy Tour-related movies, as well as the films "Larry the cable Guy: Health Inspector," "Delta Farce" and "Witless Protection," as well as a spot in the Disney animated hit "Cars."

"Git-R-Done!" is Larry's catchphrase - one that has become an emblem for blue collar comedy everywhere.
