Lalah Hathaway is a successful R&B performer-turned-producer, filling the large shoes of her musical legend father Donny.
Hathaway released her self-titled debut album in 1990, after studying the arts at Berklee College of Music. The album included a number of successful singles, including Baby Dont Cry,” Something” and Heaven Knows.”
Hathaway released the follow-up A Moment” to equal success, including the hits Separate Ways,” Let Me Love You” and Family Affair.” After the release, Hathaway began working behind the scenes in the music industry, writing and producing tracks for The Winans, Take 6 and Mary J. Blige.
In 1999, Hathaway came back to performing with a different emphasis - she released the jazz album The Song Lives On.” Roughly a decade after her debut, Hathaway found a hit single in Forever, For Always, For Love.”
Most recently, Hathaway toured on the Daughters of Soul Tour, including offspring of several famous musicians, including Sandra St. Victor, Nona Hendryx, Indira Khan and Simone.
