Lady Antebellum News & Background Information
Posted 2/1/2010
Starting in February in Texas, Lady Antebellum will appear with country super star, Tim McGraw as they head through the mid-western United States. They'll go down to Nashville in early March. In July, after zigzagging through more of the west and Canada, they'll come out to the Southeast and make their way to Virginia Beach by July 25.

With the smash hit "I Need You Now" (#1 for five consecutive weeks), the trio is unstoppable. Their new album was released on January 26th, 2010. Their second single, "American Honey," released earlier this year, is already receiving generous radio airplay and is accompanied by the band's non-stop radio interviews as they make their way around the U.S.

These talented young musicians had a platinum album upon their first effort in 2007. Was it beginners' luck? Hardly. In less than two years they have had back-to-back-chart-topping singles from "I Run To You." "I Need You Now" is also following last year's Grammy nominations and CMA win for best single of the year for "Run To You."

The group is made up of Charles Kelley (Lead and background vocals), Hillary Scott (Lead and Background vocals) and Dave Haywood (background vocals, guitar, mandolin, and piano) Scott, born April 1, 1986, is the daughter of Grammy winning country artist Linda Davis and musician father, Lang Scott. Although Scott vowed never to be a musician, it was not to be. Her first performance was with her mother on stage for a family Christmas show at Opryland, and from then on her country star fate was sealed.

Charles Kelly is the brother of pop singer and songwriter, Josh Kelly. The Kelly boys had their own band as teenagers called Inside Blue. Major record labels shopped their five-song CD.

In 2009 Lady Antebellum was awarded 'Top New Duo or Group' by The Academy of Country Music, and in 2008 they received the 'New Artist of the Year' from the Country Music Association. In 2009, "I Run To You" was awarded single of the year.

Hillary, lead vocalist for the group admits, "I'm a little terrified" of all the immediate successes they have had. "If anything, though, it makes us want to work harder and record even better songs and continue to grow as performers and prove we are deserving of it," says Hillary.
