KISS News and Information

KISS has announced some additional tour dates before kicking off their fall tour, supporting their first new studio set in 11 years, "Sonic Boom." Joining them on the road is special guest Buckcherry.

The tour, which kicks off with a two-night stint in Detroit, MI, on September 25th and 26th, will include a number of stops in the Northeast and down the East Coast in October, and will continue to the Midwest and Canada through November, before finishing up the month in California and spending the beginning of December in the South.

The lineup for the tour includes singer & bassist Gene Simmons, singer and guitarist Paul Stanley, guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.

KISS, a legendary glam metal band formed in New York City in 1972, grew to prominence in the 1970's when they became known for elaborate costumes and makeup, as well as incredible live performances including pyrotechnics, smoke guitars and blood spitting.

The original lineup of the band included Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. They took on identities of comic book-style characters - Starchild, Demon, Spaceman and Catman, respectively.

The band rose to prominence with the release of "Alive!" in 1975, which included the massive hit "Rock and Roll All Nite," and over the years they released legendary hits such as 'Detroit Rock City," "Christine Sixteen," "Calling Dr. Love," "Hard Luck Woman," and 'I Was Made for Lovin' You."

While the group became less relevant as the glam pop era ended, the rockers wiped off the makeup and found resurgence with a different, slightly softer sound. They found success with "Lick it Up," 'Tears are Falling," "Reason to Live," and "Forever."

While the lineup has changed over the years, and the group has taken time off now and then, the band has never ceased being an icon for glam rockers - and entertainers - everywhere.
