The Killers are an indie rock/new wave band from Las Vegas, Nevada, who formed in 2002. Brandon Flowers was inspired to start the band in part after seeing Oasis perform at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in April 2002. They released their hit record Hot Fuss in 2004.
The Killers were part of the post-punk revival movement that drew influence from music styles of the '80s and '90s. They released their latest album "Day & Age," produced by Stuart Price, on November 24, 2008.
The bands first two albums have sold in excess of 12 million copies worldwide. They have also released several remixes of album tracks as well as two Christmas singles. However, it was the group's debut album "Hot Fuss" that brought the band mainstream success.
The Killers have received 16 various awards and "Rolling Stones" gave them a 4.5 out of 5 stars for their latest album "Day & Age." Their album reached No. 1 on the charts in Ireland.
Some of their best known songs include:
