News and Information
Judas Priest is hitting the road this summer, promoting their new live album release entitled "Judas Priest-A Touch of Evil-Live."

Judas Priest is a heavy metal band out of England that has been known to influence many metal musicians that followed. They are known as the "Metal Gods," after a song of the same name. They have sold 30 million albums globally.

The group, which now consists of Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing, Ian Hill and Scott Travis, came together as childhood friends and eventually started performing together.

The band debuted their first single "Rocka Rolla" in 1974, and released and album of the same name shortly thereafter. "Sad Wings of Destiny" was released two years later, and included the hits "Victim of Changes" and "Whiskey Woman."

Judas Priest found mainstream success in the late 1970s with "Unleashed in the East," which included early classics such as "Diamonds & Rust" and "The Ripper." "British Steel" was an even more mainstream record, with singles such as "United," "Breaking the Law" and "Leaving After Midnight." Other hit radio tracks include "Electric Eye," "Youve Got Another Thing Comin" and "Riding on the Wind."

As heavy metal progressed into a world of glam rock, Judas Priest also changed their image - they were more colorful in performing and had more synthesizers to compliment a poppy sound.

The band released popular albums through the 1980s and 1990s, but many original members left over the years, including lead vocalist Rob Halford. In 2003 it was announced that the group would reunite. In 2006 they were the inaugural inductees into "VH1 Rock Honors" along with Kiss, Queen and Def Leppard.
