For the singer-songwriter who has received three Grammy nominations and has sold twenty-seven million albums worldwide (20 million in the US alone) with her debut 1995 "Pieces of You," Jewel is keeping her musical interests more alive then ever. She is in the midst of releasing a music video for single "Stay Here Forever," and is scheduled to bring her cross over country sound on the road with an acoustic tour later this year.

Confirmed dates begin at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, Maryland on October 27. She will perform in 15 cities, and wrap up in Fort Worth Texas on November 15 at the Bass Performance Hall.

Jewel's forthcoming album is the follow up to her 2008-2009 work, "Perfectly Clear," which made #8 on the Billboard 200 charts.

Known for songs such as "Who Will Save Your Soul" (#11 on the Billboard charts) and "You Were Meant for Me," she keeps her fans guessing about what she'll choose for her next genre. Prior to her current country music creations, she was post-punk, alternative Rock.

The 36-year-old singer was born in Payson, Utah, and brought up in Homer, Alaska. Growing up in a home that had no indoor plumbing with a Father who sang in bars and Mother who was a Mormon, what else was there for her to do except learn how to Yodel? But learn she did. She also learned how to play guitar, and while at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, she majored in operatic voice.

While living in her van and singing in coffee houses, Inga Vainshein discovered Jewel in 1993. Vainshein brought her into the fold of Atlantic records who offered to record her demo. "Pieces of You" was recorded in part on Neil Young's ranch with his then back up band The Stray Gators. She also recorded part of it at the Interchange Coffeehouse in San Diego where she was discovered.

In spite of Jewel's creative decisions that might have otherwise been mistakes, the singer seems to be destined for the mega success she enjoys today. Almost every album she has recorded has received Gold certification, even in times when she wasn't in the limelight.

"Goodbye Alice In Wonderland," her 2006 release, received mixed reviews, but still debuted at #8 on the Billboard charts and sold 82,000 copies in it's first week of distribution. The album sold 270,000 copies, and was not certified Gold, but still brought her to the attention of CMT music critic Timothy Duggan, who praised the work.
"It is what 'Pieces of You' would have been had Jewel had the musical knowledge then that she has now," wrote the critic, "A very satisfying work."

Jewel married Ty Murray, a world champion pro rodeo champion, in 2008 and now lives in Texas.
