Janet Jackson 2011 Tour News The number 35 plays an important role in Janet Jackson's "Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour" from the number of cities she's visiting to the number of No. 1 songs she's performing. Jackson kicks off her worldwide tour February in Japan, but heads stateside on March 7-8 at the Chicago Theatre.

Following her 2-day performance, she's heading North to the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto on March 12, followed by performances in Uncasille, Conn. on March 16; New York City on March 18 and Washington, D.C. at the DAR Constitution Hall on March 22.

In April, Jackson continues to tour the U.S. with stops in Atlantic City (March 25-26); Atlanta (March 29); St. Louis (March 31); Grand Prairie; Texas (April 2); Denver (April 6); Phoenix (April 8); Santa Barbara (April 9); Los Angeles (April 14); San Francisco (April 19) and Las Vegas (April 22-23).

Each stop offers a more intimate setting than Jackson's mega-arena tours of the past.

"These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done," Jackson said. "I will be as up close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years. I'll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music will all be songs that you've made number ones for me. Let's go!"

The tour is in support of Jackson's November 2010 compilation album, "Number Ones," which features top songs like "What Have You Done For Me Lately," "Control" and "Miss You Much."
