Isis Tickets

Isis is a Los Angeles, California-based band, commonly labeled avant garde metal, post-metal, post-rock and experimental among many others. They have borrowed from and helped to evolve a sound pioneered by the likes of Neurosis and Godflesh, creating heavy music consisting of lengthy songs that focus on repetition and evolution of structure.

Their sound has helped develop the sound of several contemporaries; namely Cult of Luna, Pelican, Tides, Rosetta, and Russian Circles.[1][2] The distinctive tone of their later material, heavily influenced by metal and post-rock, has made a considerable impact on avant garde heavy music,[3] attracting the attention of Mogwai,[4] Justin Broadrick and Tool. Mike Patton remixed the song "Maritime" for Oceanic Remixes and Reinterpretations (2004), and his Ipecac label released Oceanic, Panopticon and In the Absence of Truth. Seminal release Oceanic received album-of-the-year accolades from Rock Sound and Terrorizer in 2002 (see 2002 in music),[5] and Revolver named Isis the twelfth heaviest band of all time in 2004.[6] Their most recent album, In the Absence of Truth, was released on October 31, 2006.
