Imogen Heap is coming back to the United States this summer to tour in support of her third solo album "Ellipse," released in August 2009. The upcoming U.S. tour kicks off on May 22 in Detroit, Mich., and goes for four weeks before ending on June 21 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The upcoming U.S. tour will be the Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter's sixth leg of her worldwide tour, which has already made its way through North America, Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Normally, artists are recognized first from their involvement with a group or band before breaking out on their own. Not Imogen Heap.
After five years of solo singing including the 1998 release of her first album "iMegaphone" Imogen joined forces with Guy Sigsworth to form the group Frou Frou. Their debut album, "Details" was released in 2002, which was also the same year Imogen released her second solo album "Speak For Yourself."
Over the years, Imogen has collaborated with major artists, including Madonna, Bjork and Seal. In the past five years, she's also contributed to many film and television shows, including "The Chronicles of Narnia" (2005); "So You Think You Can Dance" (2006 & 2007); "Criminal Minds" (2008); "Grey's Anatomy" (2009); and "CSI: NY" (2010).
In 2010, Imogen is continuing to tour in support of her Aug. 2009 album "Ellipse" in the U.S., the U.K and Ireland. She'll be playing at the Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. in June and has two U.K. performances in August. In October and November, she's scheduled for a dozen performances in Ireland as well.
