Il Divo Tickets

Il Divo is traveling the world this May, bringing their brand of operatic pop to fans while supporting their latest album, released in November.

Il Divo, the brain child of pop super-producer Simon Cowell, includes singers Carlos Marin, Urs Buhler, David Miller and Sebastien Izambard. The name of the group means "diving male (performer)" in Italian.
The group came together as a result of "Popstars - The Rivals" - they auditioned for the Italian talent competition, and were voted out by "Nasty Nick" - Simon Cowell disagreed, and put his money where his mouth is - and signed them to his record label.

The idea for the group came to Cowell after listening to Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightmans rendition of Con te Partiro - he enjoyed the combination of classical music and lyrical voices. He put together a multinational quartet in the same vein as The Three Tenors.

Cowell brought together American tenor Miller, Spanish baritone Marin, French pop star Izambard and two classically trained tenors - Swiss Buhler and American Miller.

The group released a self-titled album "Il Divo" in 2004 - the collection included the hits "Unbreak My Heart," "Mama," Frank Sinatras "My Way, and a number of other tracks. The album was wildly popular in both America and in the UK - it achieved a spot in the Top 5 Record Charts in 25 countries.

Since then, the pop phenomenon released several albums, including "Ancora," "The Christmas Collection," "Voices," and "Siempre." Their latest release, "The Promise," which includes songs in a variety of languages - was critically acclaimed. They also released a number of DVDs, including "Mama," "Encore," "Live at the Greek Theater," and two books - "Romancing the World" and "Our Music, Our Journey, Our Words."
