This spring, Ice Cube is headlining a North American tour in support of his latest album, "I Am The West." The 15-city tour kicks off on March 30 at the Los Angeles House of Blues and runs through April 17 at the Tequila Nightclub in Saskatoon, Canada. The last U.S. tour date is April 8 at the Roseland Theatre in Portland.

Along the way, Ice Cube also has gigs at the Grove of Anaheim (April 1); House of Blues in Las Vegas (April 2); and the Showbox at the Market in Seattle (April 7).

"I Am The West," Ice Cube's ninth studio album, debuted in September 2010. It features songs like "I Rep That West" and "Drink The Kool-Aid."

Unlike some artists, Ice Cube (born O'Shea Jackson) didn't come from a musical family or have a lot of money. A product of South Central in L.A., Ice Cube developed an interest in hip hop music during high school. After graduating, Ice Cube and his friend Anthony Wheaton (a.k.a. Sir Jinx) formed the group C.I.A.

When he was 22, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre began working together, first recording a single, and later forming the group N.W.A. with Dre, MC Ren and DJ Yella. Though he was a full-time member of the group, Ice Cube was also writing music for Easy-E. He found himself at odds with the group's manager after their major album, "Straight Outta Compton," because he felt he was being underpaid. After leaving the group, Ice Cube took legal action.

At 24, Ice Cube began his solo career and debuted his first album, "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted." The album was an instant hit, and he ended up releasing three more albums over the next three years.

In 1994, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre made peace when they worked on the song "Natural Born Killaz." By 2000, Ice Cube had also mended his relationship with former N.W.A. member MC Ren.

Since 1990, Ice Cube has released a total of nine studio albums. He's also an accomplished actor, director, screenwriter and producer, having produced and starred in hits like 'Boyz n the Hood,' 'All About The Benjamins,' 'Barbershop' 'Are We There Yet?' and the Friday series.
