Hellogoodbye is currently on the west coast making their way through Arizona, Texas, Arkansas and Georgia before they come out to Florida in mid February. They will play the Recher Theatre in Baltimore, MD, on the 16th of February to an enthusiastic crowd, before heading back down through the south.
For the power pop group formed in 2001, members of Hellogoodbye are stoked. As they perform and photograph the 2010 tour highlights, their hit single, "When We First Met," stands on it's own, attracting more fans than ever before.
Formed in Huntington Beach, California by Forrest Kline and Jesse Kurink, the then high school students had a flare for entertaining their friends. Some homemade recordings made on Forrest's computer later became their first self-titled LP. Their single, "Bonnie Taylor Shakedown 21," generated more MP3 downloads then they expected. They were regular performers in the club scene in Huntington Beach, performing in several local venues before they got signed to Drive-Thru Records.
By 2004, that self titled EP sold over 400,000 copies, thus, the 2-year long Sounds of Change tour followed in the US and Europe.
The unique talent and pizzazz that these four boys have is immediately communicated; their presentation is ultra retro. Maybe they were reincarnated from a 1960's pop festival and have come back to experiment with pop and post-punk sounds all at once. The talents of Kline are many; his graphic design skills have essentially branded this group like no other at such an early stage of development.
In 2007, after the release of their first full-length album, "Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!"and two full years of non-stop touring through Europe and the States, their single "Here (In Your Arms)" made it to number 14 on the Pop 100 Billboard charts. Appearances on The Late Show, The Tonight Show and Last Call soon followed.
When keyboard player Jesse Kurvink announced that he was leaving the band to go back to college, Joe Marro, former keyboard player for The Early November, took his place. Chris Profeta, the band's drummer, also left and was replaced by Aaron Flora.
The band's got a knack for getting themselves seen and heard. Luring their fans by making 'drive-bye' cyber appearances on various websites, they have made announcements about a new album. They don't say when and they don't say what it will be called, but they keep performing their hit, "When We First Met," as well as another song they call "Betrayed By Bones."
Hellogoodbye is currently made up of: Forrest Kline on vocals, guitar, ukulele and songwriting, Aaron Flora on drums, Travis Head on bass and Joseph Marro on keyboard. Stay tuned!
