In honor of their upcoming fourth studio album, Ghostland Observatory is touring the U.S. from September through December. The 33-city tour began on Sept. 11 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and runs through Dec. 17 at New York City's Terminal 5.

Along the way, they also have concerts scheduled on on Oct. 1 at the Starry Nites Music Festival in Bowling Green, Ky.; Oct. 30 at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas; and Nov. 12-13 at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle.

They also have an album release party scheduled on Oct. 28 at the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas! The album, Codename: Rondo, is due to hit shelves on Oct. 26 though the same-named title track has already been released. Codename: Rondo is Ghostland Observatory's first new music since 2008's Robotique Majestique, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums Chart for 6 weeks.
Through a combination of rock, funk and electro, Ghostland Observatory has carved out a unique niche of their own in the music business.

Ghostland Observatory was formed in 2004 by friends Aaron Behrens (vocals/guitar) and Thomas Turner (drums/synthesizer), who have described their efforts as "not a band, but an agreement between two friends to create something that not only heals their beat-driven hearts, but pleases their rock 'n roll souls."

The duo played their first show on Independence Day 2004, and less than one year later released their debut album delete.delete.i.eat.meat. on Turner's label, Trashed Moped Recordings. Not even one year later, the band had released their second studio album, Paparazzi Lightning. Like the first album, Paparazzi Lightning had little to no promotion, though the band put out an impressive cross-country tour and played numerous festivals, including Austin City Limits 2007 and the Vegoose Music Festival. They also made their first national television debut on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in October 2007.

Many suspected that the band would sign to a major label for the release of their third album, Robotique Majestique, but they decided to stick with their own label, saying that they did meet with several record companies, but didn't see anything that would make them want to relinquish their independence.

Robotique Majestique, which was released in February 2008, differed from the first two because it was mastered by Nilesh Patel at the Exchange in London. Patel had also worked on albums by Daft Punk and Depeche Mode, two of Turner's electronic influences.
