This fall, Fantasia is touring the U.S. in support of her third studio album, Back to Me. Throughout the tour, she'll be joined by special guest Eric Benet. The R&B singer/songwriter is releasing his fifth studio album, Lost in Time, on Nov. 30. Fantasia's album, Back to Me, debuted in August.

The Back to Me Tour kicks off on Nov. 4 at the Landmark Theater in Richmond and runs through Jan. 1 at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. Along the way, she's also got stops at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore on Nov. 7; the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on Nov. 11; Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Nov. 24 and more.

From the time she was a young girl growing up in North Carolina, Fantasia Barrino and her family routinely traveled and performed gospel music.

After a traumatic event caused her to drop out of high school, Fantasia soon became an unwed mother at the age of 17. Though she was struggling, she failed to give up on her dreams of singing and auditioned for American Idol Season 4 in 2004.

Her strong spirit paid off, and she was named the winner of American Idol at the age of 19.

Following her AI win, Barrino toured with the other finalists from the show and also joined up for a 2004 Christmas special called "Kelly, Ruben and Fantasia: Home For the Holidays."

Her debut studio album, Free Yourself, hit the shelves in November 2004, and features popular songs "Truth Is" and "Baby Mama." The album has since been certified platinum by the RIAA for selling more than two million copies worldwide.

In December 2006, Fantasia released her self-titled sophomore album, though the better part of 2007 was focused on Fantasia's role as Celie in the roadway production of The Color Purple.

In 2008, Fantasia began work on her third studio album, Back to Me, which debuted in August 2010. However, during those two years, Fantasia's personal life received negative attention when an affair she was having with a married man became public in divorce proceedings and she made an attempt at suicide.

Despite her troubles, Fantasia's professional star is still on the rise with the release of her latest album and subsequent tour with R&B artist Eric Benet.
