The Family Values Tour was created by the band Korn in 1998 to be an annual Hard rock, metal and rap tour. Korn headlined the first tour, then passed the headlining spot to Limp Bizkit in 1999. The tour took the year off in 2000, due to heavy competition. In 2001, Stone Temple Pilots and Staind headlined the tour. After a five year hiatus, the Family Values returned in 2006 with Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf, 10 Years, and Dir en grey on the main stage. 2006's Family Values Tour featured a second stage for the first time in the festival's history.
Each edition of tour has been documented on CD, and two editions (1998, and 2006 respectively) have been documented on DVD releases. For the first time, selected European tour dates will be a part of The Family Values Tour 2007. Confirmed bands for the '07 tour include
Korn,
Evanescence,
Atreyu,
Flyleaf,
Trivium,
Hellyeah,
Neurosonic and
Droid.
