Exit Clōv is a Washington DC-based indie band, made up of two sisters, Emily Hsu (the band's vocalist, violinist and keyboard player) and Susan Hsu (vocalist, violinist and guitarist,) as well as Aaron Leeder on guitar, Brett Niederman on bass, and John Thayer on drums and percussion. They are noted for their political lyricism and for their that dog.-inspired mixing of violin and distorted guitar.
Established in 2003, the band played their first gig in the summer of that year at Washington DC's Velvet Lounge. After building a fanbase in the District of Columbia, they now perform gigs around the country.
Exit Clōv have self-produced two EPs, Starfish (2004) and Saskwatch (2005). They have also released the Jolly Roget Sessions (2006), for which they enlisted the help of Roger Greenawalt, and Respond Respond (2007).
