Eartha Kitt Tickets

Eartha Kitt was once called "the most exciting woman in the world" by Orson Welles, and she is proven to keep her spunk at 80 years of age, after decades upon decades of perfecting the art of being a sex kitten singer, actress and dancer.

Kitt grew up in North Carolina, and broke into Hollywood as a member of the Katherine Dunham Company, earning her film debut in "Casbah" in 1948. In 1950, she starred in Orson Welles "Dr. Faustus" in Helen of Troy. In "New Faces of 1952," she performed "Monotonous," "Cest Si Bon" and "Santa Baby," all songs that she is known for today.

In the late60s, Kitt scored the role of Catwoman in the "Batman" television series. She was professionally exiled from the U.S., however, when it was reported that she made First Lady Lady Bird Johnson cry uncontrollably after making anti-war comments. While outside of the U.S., she toured overseas, and made a return to New York in "Timbuktu!" in 1978.

In 1984, Kitt earned her first Gold record with 'Where is My Man," taking her sound to nightclubs across the country. In 1989 she released "Cha-Cha Heels," which was also very popular. In the late '90s, she returned to the stage, including a role as the Wicked Witch of the West on The Wizard of Oz and The Wild Party. As recently as 2003, she replaces Chita Rivera in Nine.

Kitt is know doing voiceovers - her most recent film was "Madagascar 2." She is also known for her continued appearances in the Manhattan cabaret scene. She is also known to tour with her sultry voice, still amazing fans after all these years!
