Crosby Stills and Nash

News and Information
Crosby, Stills & Nash are heading on the road this summer, bringing their brand of folk rock to fans all over the country.

The Supergroup, composed of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash (and occasionally Neil Young), has been together since the 1960's, perfecting their intricate harmonies and whimsical melodies.

The trio came together when Crosby left The Byrds, Stephen Stills left Buffalo Springfield and Nash departed from the Hollies. They all seemed to feel similar frustration with their bands, and found a unique vocal chemistry as a trio.

CSN released their self-titled debut in May of 1969, which was a phenomenon. After their initial success, the band decided to hire a keyboard player, and while Steve Winwood was once floated as an option, they decided on Neil Young, also a former member of Buffalo Springfield.

CSNY's first release, "D? vu," came out in 1970 and was also a tremendous hit. It included the tremendous singles "Teach your Children," "Woodstock," "Our House," "Carry On" and "Helpless."

Eventually, egos began to take a toll on the group during their summer tour of 1970, and aside from the live double album "Four Way Street," recorded during the tour, the group disbanded. During the early 1970's, the group members released solo albums, and Crosby and Nash toured together.

The group reconvened in 1974 for a massive tour, and while there were still serious personal and interpersonal issues with the band, they still found commercial success. Eventually, Crosby and Nash continued to tour regularly, and Still and Young continued their successful careers, before beginning to tour together themselves with The Stills-Young Band.

Eventually, the group banded together again, and over the years they continued to tour and record with varying lineups. During this time, the collective (which settled into CNY eventually) put out a number of tremendous hits and continued to develop themselves as a cultural and political powerhouse. Some of the hits during this time include "Ohio," "Just a Song Before I Go," "Southern Cross" and "Wasted on the Way."

In 2006, Nash rejoined the group for the "Freedom of Speech" tour, which supported Young's "Living with War." That was the most recent massive tour for the group, prior to their upcoming June outing.
