Conan O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour" was announced on March 11th. Making due with his NBC settlement, an estimated $32.5 million, and his agreement to refrain from appearing on television again until after September 1st, O'Brien admits, "It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping around the house."

The first show is on April 30th in Eugene, Oregon. After that, O'Brien will make stops in Canada, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and several more states before coming to Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, on June 8th.

Sponsored by American Express, tickets sales are soaring and fans are delighted to play a part in exorcising away the bad taste left in everyone's mouth when NBC facilitated O'Brien leaving his post as the well-loved late night talk show host. O'Brien promises that each show of his tour will be "a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence."

His popular side kick, Andy Richter, as well as members of his old "Tonight Show" band and some regular members of the old Conan TV cast make up his "Team CoCo", and will accompany O'Brien on the road to appease and entertain his fans.

O'Brien moved to Los Angeles after his years in college at Harvard. His talent for writing surfaced early on. In high school he won writing contests, and at Harvard he wrote for the Harvard Lampoon humor magazine. Evidently Hollywood saw his gift and he landed a job on HBO's writing staff for "Not Necessarily the News." He also spent some years with improvisational comedy groups, including The Groundlings.

He was hired as a writer for Saturday Night Live and spent three years with that show. He made occasional appearances in some of the comedy sketches, and was very well received by the viewers, which ultimately led to the creation of his own late late night TV talk show, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." During the life of his show (1993 - 2009) O'Brien enjoyed much success and a sizable share of the late night viewing audience.

In 2004, O'Brien was Jay Leno's guest on The Tonight Show. In May of 2009, O'Brien's audition for Leno's spot landed him the job and he took over The Tonight Show. His first guests were Will Ferrell and Pearl Jam. On January 7th of this year NBC executives decided Leno's lackluster ratings were due to his new prime time slot and negotiated to get him back on late night TV. Leno reclaimed the 11:30 PM time slot and NBC put Conan on at 12:05AM.

O'Brien's dismay at the deal forced him to end the show on January 22 of this year, and his deal with NBC included the no appearances clause. His tour is sure to be a crowd pleaser and serves as a perfect solution to not being able to appear on network television.

Born Conan Christopher O'Brien on April 18, 1963, in Brookline, Mass., he is the third of six children. His Irish Catholic upbringing, as well as his pre-Civil War era immigrant heritage has been the source for many of his jokes and comedy sketches.
