CMA Music Festival will be held in Nashville this summer from June 5th through 8th and features some of the biggest names in Country, including Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill and Alan Jackson.
The annual event is known as the "Fan Fair," and is entering its 37th year. Fan favorites take time out of their schedule each June to perform for free, meet fans and sign autographs in an effort to give back to the community that supports them. This year Dwight Yoakam, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Jewel, Miranda Lambert, Josh Turner, Rodney Atkins, Kellie Pickler and Lady Antebellum will also join in on the fun.
In addition to the concerts and autograph opportunities, the festival includes a number of exhibits and activities, including games, giveaways, free refreshments and a number of other events to show the country community appreciation.
The fans clearly appreciate the effort - last year, the CMA Music Festival brought out 191,000 fans from all over the world, featuring more than 400 artists and other notable people, 100 hours of concerts and 35 hours of autograph signings.
Half of the net proceed from the festival will be donated to the "Keep the Music Playing" charity, which promotes music education in Nashvilles Public school system. The festival has donated more than $1 million to the cause over the years.
