Charlie Sheen is taking his tiger blood to the streets, as he continues his 'My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option' tour in North America through May.
The tour runs through May 3 at the Everett Events Center in Everett, Wash., and includes stops at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. on April 19; the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta on April 21; the American Airlines Center in Dallas on April 27; the Colorado Convention Center in Denver on April 28, and more.
After being canned from Two and a Half Men, Sheen made national headlines repeatedly for his bizarre statements like "I have a different constitution. I have a different brain; I have a different heart; I got tiger blood, man" and "Winning, anyone? Rhymes with winning. Anyone? Yeah, that would be us."
Carlos Irwin Estevez, better known by his stage name Charlie Sheen, was born into a family of New York City actors. His father is Martin Sheen of "Apocalypse Now" and "The West Wing," while all three of his siblings are also actors.
Sheen and family moved to Malibu while he was still a child. Once there, Charlie excelled in baseball, but was ultimately expelled from the school because of poor attendance and grades. Sheen decided to focus solely on acting from that point on.
In 1984, Sheen took a role in the film "Red Dawn" alongside Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Nearly every year from then through 2000, Sheen starred in at least three films like "The Wraith" (1986), "Young Guns" (1988) and "Being John Malkovich" (1999).
In 2000, he switched from mainly film to television when he replaces Michael J. Fox on the comedy "Spin City." That stint lasted until 2002. In 2003, he was cast for a leading role in the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men." From 2003 to 2011, Sheen gained three Emmy Award and two Golden Globe nominations. He was also awarded an ALMA Award.
In March 2011, Sheen was fired from "Two and a Half Men" after battling with drug and alcohol abuse, and verbally attacking the show's creator, Chuck Lorre.
Despite his bizarre persona, Sheen has also helped raise money for several worthy causes like Lee National Denim Day, a breast cancer awareness fundraiser, and Aid for AIDS. In addition, $1 from each of the tickets sold for his first ever stand-up tour will be donated to the Red Cross Japanese Earthquake Relief Fund.
