Posted 6/18/2009
Broken Lizard Live is touring this summer and fall, including a stop at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC in November.
A supergroup of comedy sorts, Broken Lizard brings together the funnymen film team who brought fans the films "Super Troopers," "Club Dread" and "Beer Fest" - Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske. They met at Colgate University and formed a student sketch comedy group, and moved to New York City following graduation.
The comedians hit the big time with their cult-hit Super Troopers in 2002, and followed it up with horror comedy "Club Dread" in 2004. In 2005, they recreated the 70's classic "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Beer Fest" was released in 2006. "The Slammin' Salmon" will be released in late 2009. Another film is in the works with Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz, called 'Freeloaders."
The performances don't stop at normal stand-up - they entertain fans with stand-up, live sketches with appearances from actors in their films, improve, original films and Q and A.
