Brian Regan is known for keeping his humor family friendly while still keeping the family in stitches - something that many comedians cannot boast.
Reagan grew up in Miami, Fla., and had dreams of becoming an accountant. When a college football coach suggested he try a communications degree, he caught the comedy bug. He relocated to New York City in 1986 and was named the "Funniest Person in New York,” earning $10,000 with the title. He scored a spot as a host on the Comedy Central show "Short Attention Span Theater.”
The funnyman is just beginning his relationship with Comedy Central, which should mean big things in the future - he signed a contract that included two one-hour specials to be released on DVD, a TV show for the network and a headlining spot on a theater tour, "Brian Regan in Concert: A Comedy Central Live Event.”
He filmed his first one-hour special with the channel in April at The Barclay Theater in Irvine, Calif. The special debuted in June of 2007 and was released on DVD in August. The tour kicked off in June of 2007.
Regan is known for his situational humor from everyday events like errands and doctors visits. He regales the audience with humorous tales from spelling bees, little league and school projects.
In addition to his work with Comedy Central, Regan is a frequent contributor of the Opie and Anthony radio show. He has also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan OBrien, and Dennis Miller Live. The latter has said that Regan in his favorite stand-up comedian. Regan has also had the opportunity to open for Jerry Seinfeld.
