Bow Wow is hitting the road this summer for a few solo appearances, after spending much of his life touring with other artists, most recently Omarion.
Bow Wow turned from a kid rapper to a mature R&B star right before the eyes of his fans over the past eight years, dropping the 'Lil from his name and constantly churning out hits.
The rapper grew up in Ohio where he caught the eyes of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, who gave him his stage name. He was signed to Death Row Records and appeared on Snoop Doggs debut "Doggystyle" and was in the "Gin and Juice" video. Jermaine Dupri was also instrumental in Bow Wows career, helping him to record his first album.
"Beware of Dog" was released in 2000 when he was only 13. The album included four hits, "Bounce with Me," "Bow Wow (Thats My Name)," "Puppy Love" and "Ghetto Girls." His follow up was "Doggy Bag," which featured "Take Ya Home" and "Thank You."
"Unleashed" in 2003 was the artists first album sans the "Lil" moniker. His style matured, but the hits were the same. "Lets Get Down" was the first single, which was quite successful. Two years later "Wanted" hit shelves, which included singles "Let Me Hold You" with Omarion and "Like You" with Ciara.
In 2006, Bow Wow released "The Price of Fame," which featured a much more mature sounds - and hits "Shortie Like Mine" with Chris Brown and "Outta My System" with T-Pain. The most recent release from the artist is "Face Off," a collaboration with Omarion. The first single was "Girlfriend."
In addition to releasing six albums over eight years, Bow Wow is also a budding actor. He starred in the films "Like Mike" and "Roll Bounce," and he was featured in the television shows "Ugly Better" and "Entourage."
