Blue October came into success in the early '90s with their modern alternative rock sound. They have been releasing albums ever since, expanding their fan base with each passing album and continuing on a rise to fame.
The group was formed by vocalist/guitarist Justin Fustenfeld, drummer Jeremy Furstenfeld, bassist Matt Novestkey and guitarist Brant Coulter. Their debut album, "The Answers" was released off of an independent label, and sold 5,000 copies in their native city of Houston.
In 1999, Blue October was signed to Universal Records and released "Consent to Treatment." When the band was dropped by Universal in 2002, they released "History for Sale," which was a reflection on the control that the label placed on the band while recording "Consent.
Their single, "Calling You," was featured on the "American Wedding" soundtrack, which brought them even more fans. The largest track for the band was "Hate Me," released in 2006 - the single for the video made it to No. 12 on VH1s VSpot Top 20 Countdown.
The bands most recent album was "Foiled," put out in April of 2006. They did a major publicity tour for the album, including "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." After "Hate Me," the single "Into the Ocean" debuted at No. 3 on the VSpot Top 20 Countdown.
The band is continuing to grow - while they at one time only toured in Texas, they are now traveling the entire United States, as well as some locations in England, Germany, Mexico and Canada. The group even opened for the Rolling Stones in Boise, Idaho, last November. The groups most recent single was "Shes My Ride Home."
Blue October is a band on the rise - it is a great opportunity to see them in more intimate venues before they are selling out stadiums!
