Bill Engvall News and Information

Bill Engvall rose to prominence in the comedy world as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Group, and he now keeps fans in stitches across the country with his fast-witted, relatively clean humor.
The funnyman was raised in Texas and got his start on the small screen with a part on the sitcom "Designing Women." The first big break for Engvall was a spot on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, which eventually scored him the American Comedy Awards Comic of the Year.
Engvalls biggest break of all was when country music star Travis Tritt turned his "Heres Your Sign" skit into a song, catapulting the comedian to success. Prior to the song, Engvall was producing his own comedy skits and not selling very many - everything changed when he became a household name in the redneck scene.
Engvall has appeared on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show" a number of times - Foxworthy, the ringleader of the Blue Collar Comedy troop, has been a good friend of Engvall for some time. The duo also performs with Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy.
Engvall has become a funnyman in his own right - he stars in "The Bill Engvall Show" with Nancy Travis on TBS, which debuted this past summer.
Engvall clearly hasnt stopped at a sitcom - the comedian filmed a Comedy Central special, and he recently released the book, "Notes from a Blue Collar Life."
