In the 1980s, however, the Queen of Soul made a comeback with a number of hits with a more up-tempo sound, such as ““Freeway of Love” and ““Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves.” She remained relevant through the next two decades, topped off by a legendary performance at VH-1s ““Divas Live” in 1998, which was all but centered on the amazing performer.

Franklin released ‘So Damn Happy” in 2003, which included the Grammy Award-winning track ““Wonderful.” While she only records albums sporadically and tends to tour less than she did earlier in her career, she certainly deserves a rest – but a performance by the Queen of Soul should not be passed up!
