Arcade Fire has embarked on a worldwide tour in support of their upcoming third album, The Suburbs.

The band has several stops overseas before coming to the U.S. for eight performances beginning on Aug. 1 at Boston's Bank of America Pavilion. They also have a performance scheduled on Aug. 2 at Philadelphia's Mann Centre for Performing Arts; Aug. 4-5 at New York's Madison Square Garden; Aug. 6 at Columbia, Maryland's Merriweather Post pavilion; Aug. 8 at Lollapalooza in Chicago; Aug. 9 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium; and Aug. 11 at Atlanta's Verizon Amphitheatre.

Arcade Fire's third studio album is scheduled to debut on Aug. 3.

Arcade Fire was formed in Montreal in 2003 by now-husband and wife Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, as well as Tim Kingsbury, Richard Reed Parry, Dane Mills, Brendan Reed and William Butler, Win's brother.

The group released an EP titled Us Kids Know in 2003, which was later reworked and dubbed Arcade Fire. The band was later singed to a record label and released their first studio album, Funeral, in September 2004. The ominous title, as well as the songs "Une ann?sans lumi?," "In the Backseat" and "Haiti," came about because of the numerous deaths of those who were close to the band members.

Funeral took Arcade Fire to the cover of Time Magazine in Canada, the 'Late Show with David Letterman' and spots on MTV.

In March 2007, Arcade Fire came out with Neon Bible, their second studio album. Neon Bible was named for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize, and the band toured extensively throughout North America and Europe until February 2008.

Their next studio album, The Suburbs, is scheduled to debut in early August 2010. The band is already in process of a worldwide tour throughout November.
