Anita Baker is traveling this summer, in anticipation of her upcoming live release. She will hit Atlanta, GA, June 27th, Costa Mesa, CA July 18th, Clarkson, MI July 31st, and Washington, DC on September 18th.
Baker is a multi-Grammy-Award-Winning performer, who has earned four platinum and three gold albums during her forty-year career.
The singer released her first album, "The Songstress," in 1983 after working her way up the musical ladder in Ohio. Her first mainstream hit came from "Rapture" in 1986 - "Sweet Love." The album also caught her two Grammy Awards in 1987, and allowed her to embark on a massive tour.
In 1988, Baker released "Giving You the Best That I Got," which included "Just Because" and the title track - that became Baker's biggest hit of her career. "Compositions" was released in 1990, and "Rhythm of Love" in 1994 - both were commercial successes, and brought her Grammy total to eight.
In 2002, a best-of compilation was released ("The Best of Anita Baker"), and Blue Note Records signed Baker to an exclusive recording contract. In that collaboration, she released "My Everything" in 2004 and "Christmas Fantasy" in 2005.
In 2008, Baker embarked on a concert tour - at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota, she filmed a concert for an upcoming live DVD and B-roll footage for promotion.
