With their 7th album, "This Addiction," already in the can and on the stands, Alkaline Trio's massive multi-city tour across the US is promising fans sold out shows. After hitting the mid-west and Canada in late February, they will play several east coast shows, including an engagement at the Recher Theatre in Baltimore, MD, on March 16th.

Their new album reaches back a bit to their Indie roots, but reflects the freedom and power these three are gaining through their hands-on recording process: they have become their own producers with their own label now, so don't miss them on this tour!

Formed in 1996, the Trio has been steadily pounding America with their brand of punk ever since. By departing from Epic Records in May of last year to form Heart and Skull, their own label, a desire to produce themselves as well as other bands that might need them, is their focus now. They have not looked back even once they tell reporters, and are not regretting quitting their day jobs.

All three original members of the band hail from McHenry, Illinois. After several of their early releases "Sundials" (1997), "For Your Lungs Only" (1998), "Goddamnit" and "Maybe I'll Catch Fire" (2000) their 2001 release, "From Here To Infirmary" yielded several songs that began to put this band in the mainstream. Their following album, "Good Mourning", released in 2003, launched the single, 'We've Had Enough,' with more production value and greater appeal to more audiences.

By 2008, their fan base and appeal had increased. The 2008 release, "Agony & Irony" placed the Alkaline Trio at 13 on the Billboard album charts after they staged an interactive contest with their fans. They asked fans to download sheet music to one of their songs, ('Love Love Kiss Kiss') and to send in footage of their interpretation of the song.

The 2010 release of "This Addiction" has been highly anticipated by the trio's large fan base, and the new sound is everything they promised. The trio's vocalist, Matt Skiba, tells reporters, "The song ('This Addiction') takes heroin addiction as a metaphor for love. The whole record is really personal, all three of us have been through quite a bit since our last album, and it is all expressed through this. All the songs are about the relationships we've been in and so the record has a constant theme."
