Raúl Alejandro Escajadillo Peña, known better to fans as Aleks Syntek, began showing musical prowess at the tender age of 11 and has been entertaining the masses ever since.
As a child, he began composing his own music and lyrics - by 1984, when he came out with his stage name ("Syntek is short for "sin teclados” or "without keyboards,” a nickname given to him when he asked to borrow a keyboard from a friend.
Five years later Syntek was known for compositing "Muevete a mi alrededor” and "Sienteme,” performed by Sasha Sokol.
In 1990, he wrote "Sacudete” and "Escapar de ti” for Timbririche, and he formed Aleks Syntek y la Gente Normal. He released 'Hey Tu!” that same year, and found hits with "Unos quieren subir” and "Te quiero asi.”
Over his career, Syntek has released a number of popular albums - his most popular was "89-99” in 1999, which went platinum twice in Mexico. Most recently, he released "Leccion de Vuelo,” in 2007, which was certified Gold in Mexico.
