Alejandro Fernandez or "El Potrillo” (The Little Colt) combines a number of Mexican music nuances, including folk, country, mariachi and ranchera.
Fernandez was raised by his father Vincente, a famous Mexican country singer nicknamed "El Gran Garanon” (The stallion). With some encouragement from his father, Fernandez released his self-titled debut in 1992 after changing interest for architecture.
Fernandez dominated the Latin pop scene, and he crossed over into the world of global pop with the album "Me Estory Enamorando” in 1997. He garnered critical acclaim with "A Corazon Abierto” in 2004. In 2005, he released "Mexico - Madrid: En Directo Y Sin Escalas.”
"Viento A Favor” was the most recent studio album from Fernandez, which paired him with the Latin-pop greats Sin Bandera and Mexican artist Reyli Barbra. He also released "15 Anos De Exitos,” a best-of album celebrating 15th year in the business and 15th album.
