Alejandro Sanz, a Spanish pop musician likened to Enrique Iglesias, has been working on his craft for some time - since he was seven, to be exact. The pop star began playing at the tender age, and was composing music by the time he was 10. That dedication is what has helped him to become one of the biggest Spanish acts today, with millions of fans all over the world.

Throughout his childhood, Sanz was an introverted individual, which increased his passion for music, likely developed by his professional guitarist father. His musical inspirations over the years have included pop, flamenco and jazz.

Sanz attended a management school in Spain, planning to become an administrator, but the music bug took over and he recorded "Los Chulos Son Pa Cuidarlos" at the age of 16. His official debut, "Viviendo Deprisa," was released in 1991, and he was the quintessential teen heartthrob until he really hit the big time with the more mature-sounding "Mas" in 1997, which is known as the most successful Spanish pop record ever. After that release, he took some time off to marry Mexican model Jaydy Mitchell, and released "En tren de los momentos" in 2006.

As of late, Sanz has been known for his collaborations with Shakira, who has been achieving much success in America - hopefully this means he will burst onto the English-language scene soon!
