Alan Jackson News and Information
Posted 3/26/2009
Alan Jackson has spent the past two decades on top of the country music industry, second in the '90s to only mega-star Garth Brooks. His steady stream of commercial hits over the years, paired with his likable nature and wholesome, yet cheeky, song writing has kept him very popular, as his consistent sold-out tours indicate.

Jackson exploded onto the music scene in 1989 with the hit album "Here in the Real World," which featured four Top Five singles, including "Chasin That Neon Rainbow" and "Wanted." His third album, "A Lot About Livin (And a Little 'Bout Love" was arguably his biggest success, charting the hits "Shes Got the Rhythm (And I Got the Blues)," "Tonight I Climbed the Wall," "Chattahoochee," "Mercury Blues," "(Who Says) You cant Have it All" and "Tropical Depression."

After September 11, 2001, Jacksons single to commemorate the tragedy, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," struck a chord with country fans and the mainstream alike, prompting it to become his first song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Over the years, Jackson has softened his image in the country game from Honky Tonk to a more subdued sound, including the 2006 release "Precious Memories," a collection of gospel songs that was gift to his mother, and "Like Red on a Rose," released the same year.
