News and Information
Aerosmith is pairing up with ZZ Top for a massive summer tour, kicking off in mid-June and trucking on through mid-September.

The Bad Boys from Boston and the Lil' Old Band From Texas, both Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees, will hit almost every major city in the country.

Aerosmith is coming off a busy year - in June of 2008, makers of the Guitar Hero Series released "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith," which was a wildly successful addition to the pop culture giant.

In September of 2008, frontman Stephen Tyler announced that he, Joe Perry, Brad Witford, Tom Hamilton and Joe Kramer were heading to the studio to record their first collection of new material since 2001's "Just Push Play."

ZZ Top is traveling in celebration of its 40th Anniversary.

Aerosmith Background Information

Aerosmith is regarded by many as "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band." If nothing else, the guys have certainly had the most career longevity of all other band that began in the '70s area, as they are still a prominent force in the music industry today and claim the spot of the bestselling American hard rock band of all time.

Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton originally created the band in 1970 and recruited Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer to finish out the group. The band released its debut in 1973, which put them on the map with the single "Dream On." In 1975, "Toys in the Attack" solidified their position on the top of the hard tock game with the singles "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk this Way." The album, is often considered one of the Greatest Rock albums, influencing groups such as Motley Crue, Metallica and Guns N' Roses.

Hard drug use began to affect the band in the late '70s, with Perry and Whitford leaving the band. The band continued to spiral downward, with Tyler collapsing onstage in 1982. By 1984, however, Perry and Whitford came back to the band, and in 1986 the group worked with Run D.M.C.'s cover of "Walk this Way," a very pivotal moment for hip hop in popular American music. The single prompted a comeback for the group, after successful stints in rehabilitation for different dependencies. In August of 1987, the band released "Permanent Vacation." The album included the hits "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)," "Rag Doll" and "Angel." The album led to a massive tour with Guns N' Roses, which was very successful.

The next album for the band, "Pump" was even more popular. "Janie's Got a Gun," "What it Takes," "Love in an Eleveator" and "The Other Side" were all commercial hits. After lots of touring and promotional appearances, "Get A Grip" was released in 1993 as the follow-up to "Pump." The album included the hits "Livin' on the Edge," "Eat the Rich," plus three massively popular ballads, "Cryin'," "Crazy" and "Amazing."

The legendary band was clearly starting to move closer towards the mainstream, and they were clearly selling like it. In 1994, "Big Ones" included the hits from their prior two albums, plus "Blind Man," "Walk on Water" and "Deuces are Wild." After a decade of hits, one would think that the band would face a slump - not so. "Nine Lives" in 1997 included the hits "Falling in Love (Is Hard on the Knees)," "Hole in My Soul" and "Pink." The album was followed with a 24-month "Nine Lives" tour. During this time, the ballad "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" was released - it became a massive hit and was nominated for an Academy Award.

The band began this decade headlining the Super Bowl XXV halftime show with a number of massive artists. The group also released "Just Press Play" in 2001, which almost instantly went platinum and included the single "Jaded." In the past few years, Tyler has ventured into acting while Joe Perry released a solo album.

The group has also done a lot of touring recently, including the Gils of Summer Tour with Kid Rock and Run-D.M.C., the Honkin' on Bobo Tour, and Route of All Evil Tour with Motley Crue.
