With broken bones and broken hearts now mended, Aerosmith is ready to do what it does best - rock out this summer for its "Global Warming" tour mid-June through August, with special guest Cheap Trick.
The tour kicks off June 16 at the Target Center in Minneapolis and continues with stops in Cleveland (6/19), Chicago (6/22), Bristow, Va. (7/3), Boston (7/17), Philadelphia (7/21), Dallas (7/28) and Oakland, Calif. (8/4), just to name a few. They'll also take a detour to play one night of Summerfest in Milwaukee July 7.
The band is really excited about being back on the road. "The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with yur mothers," said frontman Steven Tyler. Guitarist Joe Perry shared the sentiment, saying, "Can't wait to bring this band back home. It feels like we've been away too long."
Fans can expect a mix of classics, hits and maybe even a few new songs the band has been working on in the studio, though no new album has been announced yet.
Tyler recently celebrated his birthday in very public fashion on an episode of "American Idol." The remaining contestants sang "Happy Birthday," accompanied by Perry on guitar. Tyler was visibly moved.
