Adam Lambert may not have gotten top honors on American Idol, but that doesn't mean that he's not a winner. Just ask his fans, who are sure to enjoy his latest endeavor: The Glam Nation Tour. Lambert is hitting the road this summer for his first headlining tour, along with special guest and fellow former American Idol contestant Alison Iraheta.
The 19-city tour kicks off in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., on June 4 before wrapping up on Sept. 18 in St. Petersburg, Fla. Guitarist Orianthi will also be joining the former American Idol contestants.
Before becoming a household name as a leading contestant in American Idol's eighth season, California native Adam Lambert has already established a name for himself in the theater world. Lambert performed alongside Val Kilmer in the "Ten Commandments: The Musical" and also traveled to perform in "Wicked."
When he took his flair for the dramatic to the American Idol stage in 2009, he heard nothing but praise from the judges and quickly became a fan-favorite while performing songs like Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" and Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love." Lambert made it to the final two, competing with guitarist/folk singer Kris Alllen, but lost by a rumored slim margin.
After the American Idol competition, Lambert toured with the other contestants in the American
Idol tour and confirmed his homosexuality in a Rolling Stone interview while subsequently appearing on the cover.
In June 2009, Lambert signed with RCA and released his first studio album "For Your Entertainment" in November. He's also had several singles to date, including "No Boundaries," "Time for Miracles" and "Whataya Want from Me."
