Aaron Carter emerged out from under big brother Backstreet Boy Nick in 1997 and has gained fame as a pop star on his own, as well as acting praises.
Carter grew up in Florida, learning to play a variety of instruments including drums, piano, guitar and saxophone. He was the lead singer of a local band, "Dead End” at age seven.
The up-and-coming performer scored a spot opening for the Backstreet Boys in Europe in 1997, and released his self titled debut at the end of the year. The collection was a hit in Europe, charting in the UK and Sweden. He continued to release a string of singles and another album, "Aarons Party (Come Get It),” in Europe, scoring a number of hits.
Carter hit the big time in the U.S. with "Aarons Party (Come Get It…)” in 2000. He released a number of albums in the following years, including "Oh Aaron,” "Another Earthquake,” "Most Requested Hits” and "2 Good 2 B True,” plus a best-of collection in 2006.
Hit singles from Carters career include "I Want Candy,” "Aarons Party,” "Thats How I Beat Shaq,” "The Clapping Song” and "Not Too Young, Not Too Old.” His songs were included on a number of soundtracks, including "The Little Vampire,” "Rugrats in Paris: The Movie”, "The Princess Diaries,” and "Popstar.”
Carter has also acted in a number of television shows, including "Lizzie McGuire,” "Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” "7th Heaven” and the reality show "House of Carters.”
