Soundgarden, Green Day, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Phoenix, Social Distortion, MGMT, Jimmy Cliff, Hot Chip and The Black Keys are just some of the bands performing live at Lollapalooza 2010 from August 6th through 8th in Chicago's Grant Park.
Lady Gaga is kicking the event off with the first performance of the day on Friday, Aug. 6, followed by 30 more bands, like Chromeo, Matt & Kim and The Big Pink.
Electronica fans can check out Perry's for tons of spinning by 2ManyDJs, Empire of the Sun (Full Live Band), Digitalism, Perry Etty vs Chris Cox and more.
Lollapalooza was created by Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction back in 1990. This year's weekend of eclectic music marks the 20th Anniversary of the first attempt to bring the 1960's Woodstock culture back in style, first in the 1990's but now enduring into the 21st century.
The inclusion of Soundgarden as one of this year's headliners is a particularly fitting full circle moment. The band was part of the original first line up in 1990, along with Iggy Pop, Queen Latifah, The Cramps, Lenny Kravitz, Public Enemy, The Indigo Girls and Joan Baez.
