The brotherly trio Jonas Brothers started off as a solo act with Nick Jonas, but the family soon realized it would be more fun as a group effort. The rest is rock-pop history, and the boys now have two successful albums under their belts!
Nick Jonas was discovered at the tender age of six while singing at a barber shop. He began acting in a number of plays, and eventually began recording original music. After scoring a record deal with Columbia Records due to his successful single Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)," and recording one solo album, he joined forces with brother Kevin and Joe to form the trio.
In 2005, the boys went on a number of tours, including the Backstreet Boys, Click 5, Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney and Aly & AJ and The Cheetah Girls. In 2006, the group released its debut album as a collective, Its About Time." The first single from the album was Mandy," popular on MTVs Total Request Live. Time for Me to Fly" was also successful. Throughout the year, the group became particularly popular on Radio Disney after covering the song Poor Unfortunate Souls" from the animated classic The Little Mermaid."
In February of 2007, the Jonas Brothers signed with Hollywood Records and released Jonas Brothers" on the summer of that year. The talented group guest starred on an episode of Hannah Montana and participated in a number of various Disney performances, including the closing ceremonies of the Disney Channel Games.
2008 was busy year for the Jonas Brothers, who spent much of the spring opening for Miley Cyrus on the Best of Both Worlds Tour. The band also signed a contract with Disney to star in a concert special, a movie, "Camp Rock", and a TV series entitled "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream."
