Jonas Brothers

News and Information
In June, the Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling Jonas Brothers will be embarking on the "Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009," a worldwide tour in support of their fourth studio album "Lines, Vines and Trying Times."

"Lines, Vines and Trying Times" will be released on June 15, 2009. "Lines are something that someone feeds you, vines are the things that get in the way, and trying times, well, that's obvious," Nick Jonas said.

The Jonas Brothers (Kevin, Joe and Nick) gained their popularity from the Disney Channel. To date, the Jonas Brothers have released three studio albums. Their first single, "Mandy," was released on December 27, 2005. Music from "Mandy" has been on the "Aquamarine" Soundtrack, the Nickelodeon show "Zoey 101: Spring Break-Up" and "Zoey 101: Music Mix," as well as Cartoon Network's "Cartoon Fridays."

Their second album, "It's About Time," was released on August 8, 2006. "It's About Time" only released about 50,000 copies, which made it onto auction sites for up to $300. It was then that the Jonas Brothers started considering switching labels.

In February 2007, the Jonas Brothers signed with Hollywood Records and released their self-titled album in August 2007. It reached number five on the Billboard Hot 200 chart during the first week.

The Jonas Brothers' third studio album, "A Little Bit Longer," was released on August 12, 2008. During Summer 2008, the Jonas Brothers started their North American tour, the 'Burning Up Tour,' in support of the album, with special guest appearances from county star Taylor Swift.

In December 2008, the Jonas Brothers were nominated for the Best New Artist award at the 51st Grammy Awards. More recently, they were the winners of Favorite Music Group at Nickelodeon's 2009 Kids' Choice Awards.

The Jonas Brothers have been known to perform with artists like Kelly Clarkson, The Cheetah Girls, the Backstreet Boys, The Veronicas, The Click Five and Aly & AJ.

Jonas Brothers Background Information

The brotherly trio Jonas Brothers started off as a solo act with Nick Jonas, but the family soon realized it would be more fun as a group effort. The rest is rock-pop history, and the boys now have two successful albums under their belts!

Nick Jonas was discovered at the tender age of six while singing at a barber shop. He began acting in a number of plays, and eventually began recording original music. After scoring a record deal with Columbia Records due to his successful single Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)," and recording one solo album, he joined forces with brother Kevin and Joe to form the trio.

In 2005, the boys went on a number of tours, including the Backstreet Boys, Click 5, Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney and Aly & AJ and The Cheetah Girls. In 2006, the group released its debut album as a collective, Its About Time." The first single from the album was Mandy," popular on MTVs Total Request Live. Time for Me to Fly" was also successful. Throughout the year, the group became particularly popular on Radio Disney after covering the song Poor Unfortunate Souls" from the animated classic The Little Mermaid."

In February of 2007, the Jonas Brothers signed with Hollywood Records and released Jonas Brothers" on the summer of that year. The talented group guest starred on an episode of Hannah Montana and participated in a number of various Disney performances, including the closing ceremonies of the Disney Channel Games.

2008 was busy year for the Jonas Brothers, who spent much of the spring opening for Miley Cyrus on the Best of Both Worlds Tour. The band also signed a contract with Disney to star in a concert special, a movie, "Camp Rock", and a TV series entitled "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream."
