2 Skinnee Js News and Information 2 Skinnee J's are a rap-metal band that draw influences from such similarly minded bands as 311 and Rage Against the Machine. Where Rage is political, 2 Skinnee J's are party animals, more concerned with rocking the house than elevating consciousness.

The band formed around 1990 and went through several changes before the final lineup was settled around 1996. That lineup featured A. MAYS (guitar), Eddie Eyeball (bass), Andy Action (drums), the SPICE (keyboards), J Guevara (vocals), Special J (vocals), Ultra Mega Mel (vocals), Bobby Oakes (vocals) and A.J. Stumpy Johnson (manager). That lineup released two independent CDs, Return of the New and Improved and Sing, Earthboy, Sing, before signing to Capricorn Records in 1997. The following spring, they released their major-label debut, Supermercado; Volumizer was issued in fall 2000
